- Ei ole midagi sellist kuulnud. Tavaline vaste on "kavernoosne". Siim 27. veebruar 2007, kell 19:00 (UTC)
- Arvatavasti oli see vaste võetud Silveti sõnaraamatust. Seal oli antud korraga meditsiini- ja geoloogiatermin ning toodud vastetena "kavernoosne", "tühikuline" ja "õõneline". ÕS-is on toodud meditsiini- ja geoloogiatermini tähenduseks "tühikuline", kusjuures sõna "tühik" meditsiinis tõesti kasutatakse. Kas seda ka geoloogias kasutatakse, jääb selgisetuks. Ma arvan, et kõik nad võivad olla teatud juhtudel aktsepteeritavad. Igal juhul üksteisega asendatavad nad siiski ei ole. Siim 27. veebruar 2007, kell 19:00 (UTC)

- Ma ei tea, kas nii keeruliseks on vaja asja ajada. Ma lihtsalt mõtlesin seda, et erinevaid sõnaühendeid, mis sisaldavad sõna continental, võidakse mõnel juhul tõlkida "mandri-", mõnel juhul "kontinentaal-" või ka "kontinentaalne". Aga kui need omavahel asendada, siis võivad tekkida senitundmatu kujuga mõisted. Näiteks saaab öelda mandriline maakoor või kontinentaalne maakoor, aga kontinentaalmaakoorest pole ma küll midagi kuulnud. Siim 27. veebruar 2007, kell 19:15 (UTC)
